Achieving Economies of Scale through Partnerships - ASHEVILLE

Participants in this workshop will learn to identify and evaluate a full range of viable partnership opportunities from collaborations on a project to mergers.

Date: Apr 27, 2010
Time: 10:00 am - 04:00 pm

Location: ASHEVILLE

Details: As funding opportunities dwindle during this tough economy, nonprofits are asked to do more with less. Banding together with other organizations makes sense.  But how do you get started and how do you determine when partnership is a good strategy for your organization? Participants in this workshop will learn to identify and evaluate a full range of viable partnership opportunities from collaborations on a project to mergers.  They will also participate in a discussion of the many ways nonprofits can partner with other nonprofits as well as with religious organizations, government entities and corporations.  Participants will take away a plan outline that: identifies their organization’s motivating factors for partnerships, defines expectations, explores and evaluates the continuum of partnership opportunities, assesses potential partners, avoids culture clashes and drafts a partnership agreement.
