Creating a Fundraising Plan (SPRUCE PINE)

Learn about and practice using tools for creating and working a fundraising plan.

Date: Nov 12, 2010
Time: 10:00 am - 04:00 pm

Location: Spruce Pine

Details:

There are four steps to fundraising: plan, plan, plan, and work your plan," according to development guru Kim Klein. In a busy and under-resourced nonprofit environment, planning can get overlooked, given short shrift, or lost in the shuffle. In this workshop, you will learn about and practice using tools for creating and working a fundraising plan. In addition, you will have a chance for dialogue with other development professionals about the “real world” balance between planning and remaining responsive to changing needs and opportunities. We will spend time setting intentions, developing goals, identifying appropriate fundraising strategies and concrete tasks within these strategies, and creating a timeline – all with plenty of hands-on practice. We will also discuss how to evaluate progress toward your goals and adapt your plan as needed. Finally, we will focus on the importance of an Annual Campaign as the keystone of any development plan, and practice using planning tools such as the gift range chart to map your Annual Campaign. At the end of the day, participants will leave with an outline for their annual Fundraising Plan and a gift range chart for Annual Campaign planning.
