Engage Your Board for Planned Giving Success - Webinar

Define the role of planned giving in a charity’s development program.

Date: Jan 15, 2009
Time: 01:00 pm - 02:00 pm

Location: 1 computer with internet connection

Details:

More and more nonprofits are implementing – or placing greater emphasis on – planned giving to diversify revenue and build permanent assets.  For board members, the fundraising focus may be puzzling.  After all, most of the gifts resulting from such programs are deferred – meaning the charity will not benefit for many years. Why not focus on current gifts that produce immediate results?

This presentation, led by Kathryn Miree, is designed to:

  • Define the role of planned giving in a charity’s development program;
  • Motivate the board by identifying the short-term and long-term opportunities in planned giving;
  • Clearly define the board’s role in design, support, and advancement of the program.

The session is a must for staff who want to engage the board, as well as board members who want to create a more solid fundraising platform for the charities they serve.

Fee: $20 Philanthropy Journal subscribers; $30 non-subscribers

Session Leader:

Kathryn W. Miree, J.D., is president of Kathryn W. Miree & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm that works with boards and staff of nonprofits and foundations to develop administrative policies, structure, and planned giving programs.
