Building the Skills and Knowledge of Nonprofit Leaders
Working in a community-based organization is challenging - as leaders continually face changing regulations, raising financial resources, and complex community needs, among other areas. WNC Nonprofit Pathways offers high quality courses and workshops to help you do your important work more effectively. 
We offer the following assistance to individuals. Click on the bold title below for more information and schedules.
Nonprofit Fundamentals - Includes six courses offered annually that cover the core competencies that every nonprofit leader needs to know. Fundamentals courses are taught by local leaders who are experienced and knowledgeable in these topics that are so critical to nonprofit success.
Duke Nonprofit Management Program - A variety of useful courses are offered each spring and fall across the mountains. WNC Nonprofit Pathways hosts this program in our region; we select topics based on nonprofit needs and recruit excellent instructors. Participants earn a certificate after 50 hours of coursework.
Nonprofit Leadership Forum – Annual presentation held each fall, targeted to executive directors and board chairs although all are welcome.
Update on Compliance and Regulatory Issues – Annual educational program held each spring, covering the laws governing North Carolina’s nonprofits as well as the lates changes in related compliance issues. Offered in cooperation with the N.C. Center for Nonprofits.
