With the heightened government scrutiny of nonprofits, as well as increased penalties for non-compliance, are you on top of the latest tax, legal, accounting and governance requirements?

In response to requests from the Western North Carolina nonprofit community, each spring we offer a short course in the latest legal and regulatory requirements and issues facing our sector.

(Dates for the spring 2009 program will be announced in late 2008.)

Our program is offered in two parts; attendees may come to one or both parts.

• Part A -- Laws Governing N.C. Nonprofits (overview of requirements, repeated annually)
• Part B -- Compliance Update  (focus on recent state lobbying regulations and other new changes)

The program is presented by David Heinen, Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at the N.C. Center for Nonprofits.
