You are invited to attend our WNC Nonprofit Leadership Forum, focusing on a timely topic each fall.

SAVE THE DATE: Next Forum - October 18, 2011, featuring fundraising guru Kim Klein!

The Forum combines practical knowledge and inspiration, delivered by experienced practitioners in our field.

This session is particularly targeted to Board Chairs and Executive Directors, although all are welcome.  Information and registration on the next Forum will be posted here in the summer.

Focus of Past Forums

2010 - Overcoming Challenges and Seizing Opportunities of These Times; 140 nonprofit leaders from 15 counties heard a "Snapshot of the WNC Nonprofit Sector" report, a conversation among funders Dan Gerlach (Golden Leaf) and Mary Mountcastle (Z. Smith Reynolds) and nonprofit leaders Julie Mayfield (WNC Alliance) and Lynn Shields (Stecoah Valley Center).

2009 - Sea Change: How Nonprofits Are Adapting to the New Nonprofit Environment; almost 200 nonprofit leaders attended this session featuring Peter York of TCC Group.

2008 - Building Core Capacities for Challenging Times: The Nonprofit Life Cycle; over 160 nonprofit representatives participated from 14 western counties and the Qualla Boundary

2007 - Leading Together: Making the Most of the Board Chair/Executive Director Relationship; over 100 nonprofit representatives participated from around the region.

2006 - Executive Transition: The Challenge of Leadership Changes in Nonprofits; In October 2006, we had 100 board and staff  participants representing 16 counties from around Western North Carolina for our 1st Nonprofit Leadership Forum.  The Forum focused on changes which are accelerating due to the baby boomer generation retiring.
