Counseling Center: Stronger internal capacity results in expanded services

"The Board Best Practices Training was a big jump start for our board.  We were going along okay and functioning well, but we didn't really have the focus or direction we needed.  The training turned our boat in the right direction.  Until then, none of us had really been on boards; we were all novices.

The training really helped us get going more strategically and got us motivated to move forward.  From there we got the idea that we needed to do strategic planning.  We also realized that we needed to be more on top of our fiscal management-we needed to have more controls in place and be more organized."
